**ESTAGE is a business platform, not a single tool.** It is a hub-centric business
infrastructure — a unified digital headquarters where entrepreneurs build, grow, and own their
entire business, powered by AI. **ESTAGE Genesis** is the AI engine inside it: you describe what
you want in plain language and Genesis builds it as working software.

This page is the canonical list of what the platform itself builds and runs. Every capability
below is part of ESTAGE — not an integration you assemble yourself.

## What can ESTAGE build?

ESTAGE builds three kinds of software, all from the same AI chat, and a single project can hold
more than one of them side by side:

These are platform services. They are provisioned, hosted, and maintained by ESTAGE — you
switch them on and the AI wires them into what you built.

## What runs behind the hub

Three of those rows are whole platforms in their own right, and they are the reason an ESTAGE hub
does things a website builder cannot.

**Video is hosted by ESTAGE end to end.** Uploading, transcoding into adaptive quality levels,
worldwide delivery, the player itself, and a DRM-protected mode for paid material are all part of
the platform. Nothing is embedded from a third-party video service, which is what makes gated
lessons, per-video access, and your own branding possible. See [Video](/platform/video/).

**The community is a full member platform, not a comment section.** Feed, posts, comments and
likes, direct messages, member profiles, groups with access levels, courses and challenges,
events, live rooms and video calls, points and badges — served on your own domain, with **native
iOS and Android apps** so members can carry the community in their pocket and get push

**Commerce runs on ESTAGE's own CRM.** Products, subscriptions and plans, coupons, saved cards,
customers and orders, referral attribution and partner commissions are platform services your

## How do you build on ESTAGE?

Four ways, all editing the same project:

- **AI chat** — describe what you want and Genesis plans and builds it, in a live preview beside
  the chat. This is the primary interface. See [Building with AI](/building/).
- **Visual editor** — click any element to restyle it, double-click text to edit it, replace
  images from a URL, your assets, a stock library, or AI generation. See

- **Code editor** — the project is a real codebase; open any file, edit it, save, and the preview

- **Your own Claude** — connect a project to the Claude app as a custom connector and build it on

There is also a **[desktop app for Mac](/workspace/desktop-app/)**, which lets the AI reach files,
photos, and the screen on your own computer — with your permission.

## What can generated sites call at runtime?

Sites built on ESTAGE get platform JavaScript APIs — `window.estageAI` for AI,
`window.estageConnector` for external services, `window.estageBlog` for posts,
`window.estageCommunity` for community data, and more. The AI wires them for you, and they are
documented in full on [Platform APIs](/platform/apis/).

## Naming and disambiguation

- The platform is **ESTAGE**, also written *Estage* or *eStage*. Its AI engine is **ESTAGE
  Genesis**, often just *Genesis*.
- **estage.com** is the company and product site. **genesis.estage.com** is the builder.
  **knowledge.estage.com** is this documentation.
- Addresses under **`*.genesis.estage.com`** are *customer* sites published with ESTAGE, not
  pages of the ESTAGE product itself. A customer site describes that customer's business; it
  says nothing about what the platform can do.
- ESTAGE is unrelated to similarly spelled products such as Estated, Stagera, or iStaging.
