The **SEO** tab controls how your site appears in search results and when people share its
links. Save changes with the floating **Save site SEO** bar at the bottom of the panel.

## Social sharing

These values control the preview card that appears when your links are shared on social
platforms.

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **OG description** | Up to 200 characters. The summary shown in share cards. Falls back to your site [description](/project-settings/general/) when empty. |
| **OG image** | The image shown in share cards. **1200×630** is recommended. Pick from your Media Library. |
| **Canonical base URL** | The preferred base URL for your site. Leave empty to use your published URL automatically. |

## Search engine verification

Paste the verification codes from each search provider to prove you own the site. Each field
has a **Get code** link to the provider:

- **Google Search Console**
- **Bing Webmaster**
- **Yandex Webmaster**
- **Pinterest**

## What published sites do for search engines automatically

You don't configure any of this — it ships with every publish:

- **A crawlable favicon**, so your icon shows next to your result in Google.
- **Fully pre-rendered pages on your own domain** — crawlers get complete HTML rather than a
page they'd have to run JavaScript to read.
- **No competing mirror.** Your `…genesis.estage.com` address no longer competes with your custom
domain in search results, so the ranking goes to your brand.

## Per-page metadata

The **Pages** section lists the routes Genesis discovered in your site. For each page you can:

- Mark it **Listed** or **Hidden**.
- Override the **Title** (up to 90 characters).
- Override the **Description** (up to 200 characters) — used for both search results and social.
- Set a **Social image** (URL or pick from your Media Library).
- Choose a **Robots** rule: *Default*, *No index, follow*, *No index, no follow*, or *None*.

:::tip
Leave per-page fields blank to inherit your site-level SEO. Only override the pages that
need something different.
