The storefront is a set of elements Genesis puts on your site. They read your CRM catalog as it
is: change a price or a stock count in CRM and the site shows it within a minute or so — no
re-publish needed.

## Adding the store

Ask the AI in chat — *"add a store"*, *"add a shop with a cart"* — or use the
**`/add Store`** slash command. Genesis adds:

| Page | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Catalog** | Product grid with search and filters — price, product type, collections, your product options, and in stock only. |
| **Product pages** | Gallery, option pickers, stock status and **Add to cart**, at `/product/<handle>`. |
| **Collections** | One page per collection, at `/collections/<handle>`. |
| **Cart & checkout** | One cart for everything the buyer adds; the checkout takes the address, delivery and payment. |
| **Order status page** | Where the buyer follows their order — see below. |
| **Sign-in & my orders** | A returning buyer signs in to see their order history. Buying never needs an account. |

Built a shop before the sign-in existed? **`/add Sign-in & my orders`** adds just that part.

## The checkout

1. **Contact and address.** The address decides which delivery options and which tax apply.
2. **Delivery.** The options your shipping zones offer for that address — flat, free over a
threshold, by weight, local delivery, pickup, or **live carrier rates** (for example
*UPS Ground*, *FedEx 2Day*, or *Cheapest delivery* through Shiprocket or NimbusPost in India) with
   their transit times.
If nothing is offered for an address, the store does not ship there and the order cannot be
   placed.
3. **Discount code**, when the store has codes.
4. **Payment** through a connected gateway — Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Square, Easy Pay Direct or Paystack.

After payment the buyer gets an order confirmation email with a link to the order page.

## The order status page

Every order has its own private page on your site, `/order/<code>`. The link is in the
confirmation email. It shows what was bought and paid, and each **shipment** with its carrier,
tracking number and status — an order sent in two parcels shows two. It keeps itself up to date
while something is on its way.

:::note
The page is opened by a long private code, not by the order number — nobody can look through
other people's orders by guessing numbers.

## Search engines

When you publish, Genesis writes a real page for every product and collection that has a URL
handle, with its title, description and image, and adds them to the sitemap — so each product
can be found in search on its own.

## What's next

- [Shipping & tax](/store/shipping/) — the delivery options and tax the checkout offers.
- [Orders, shipping & discounts](/store/orders/) — what happens after the buyer pays.
