Teams and shared folders
ESTAGE Video gives you two ways to let other people work with your videos:
- A team workspace — invited teammates work in your whole library, as you do.
- A shared folder — one folder (and everything inside it) opened to specific people, as Viewer or Editor.
Everyone you add needs their own ESTAGE account.
Inviting a teammate to your workspace
Section titled “Inviting a teammate to your workspace”- Open the workspace switcher in the top bar and choose Manage team (or go to Team).
- Under Invite a teammate, enter their email and click Invite.
- They open Team on their side, find your invitation under Invitations for you, and click Accept.
Once they accept, your workspace appears in their workspace switcher, next to Personal. When they switch to it, they can upload, edit, organize, share and delete in your library just as you can, and everything they upload counts against your storage.
The invite only works for an email that already belongs to an ESTAGE user — otherwise you’ll see Could not invite — check the email is a registered Estage user.
Removing a teammate
Section titled “Removing a teammate”On Team, click Remove next to the member and confirm. They lose access to your workspace videos right away.
Sharing a folder with specific people
Section titled “Sharing a folder with specific people”- On the folder card, open ⋯ → Share — or open the folder and click Share at the top.
- Type the person’s ESTAGE email, pick Viewer or Editor, and click Invite.
- Click Done.
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Viewer | Can watch videos and browse folders — and download them |
| Editor | Can upload, edit, move and delete videos |
The folder appears in their Shared with me with a View only or Can edit badge. Under People with access you see everyone: people invited by email (marked Invited — hasn’t opened it yet until they open it), and people who joined with the link. Use the role menu next to a person to change their role or Remove access.
Sharing a folder by link
Section titled “Sharing a folder by link”In the Share window, turn on Anyone with the link and choose whether the link lets people view or edit. Copy link copies it.
Anyone who opens the link signs in with their ESTAGE account and the folder is added to their Shared with me.
- Reset link makes a new link. The old one stops working, and everyone who joined through it loses access.
- Turning the link off removes everyone who joined through it. People you invited by email keep their access.
- To keep someone who joined by link even after the link goes off, pick a role for them in People with access.
What a shared folder looks like to the other person
Section titled “What a shared folder looks like to the other person”They open it from Shared with me. The folder shows who shared it, and a badge for their role. With View only they can watch, open a video’s Details and download. With Can edit they can also upload into the folder, create sub-folders and change video settings.
To stop seeing a folder, they choose ⋯ → Leave folder in Shared with me.
Things worth knowing
Section titled “Things worth knowing”- A share covers the folder and everything inside it, including sub-folders added later.
- Your top-level library can’t be shared — share a folder instead, or invite a teammate to your workspace.
- Editors stay inside the shared folder. They can move videos only within it, and can’t delete the shared folder itself.
- Only the library owner manages sharing of a folder — that includes teammates working in the owner’s team workspace. People a folder is shared with can’t share it further.
- To give someone your videos inside Genesis, invite them to the project with the Video editor role. See Project roles. A teammate who builds your site sees your videos in Genesis once you add them on the Team page here.
