Live Controls
Live Controls is the panel for things on your site that you operate, not just style: chat rooms you open and close, product catalogs you update, component options you tweak. It saves you an AI round-trip for everyday operational changes.
The Live Controls button (sliders icon) appears in the toolbar once your project has at least one controllable element.
What shows up there
Section titled “What shows up there”- Live Chat rooms — open or close a room with a toggle (e.g. open the chat when your webinar starts, close it after).
- Videos — swap which video an embed plays.
- Forms — manage form configurations.
- Component controls — any options a component has exposed: sliders, dropdowns, toggles, color pickers (see below).
Exposing controls on any component
Section titled “Exposing controls on any component”Want a component’s settings — items per row, accent color, autoplay — editable from the
sidebar? Select it and use the [Live Controls:] tag
in chat (or the Live Controls entry in the / slash menu):
[Live Controls: perRow, accentColor, showFilters]Genesis wires those options up as real controls. From then on you tweak them directly — no chat needed.
Product catalogs
Section titled “Product catalogs”A catalog created with [product list]
gets its own editing panel: select the grid in the preview and you can add, edit, reorder,
and delete products — names, prices, photos (from upload, Unsplash, or AI generation) —
instantly, without an AI turn.
